Mordel, M.D. received his medical training at Hadassah
Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, graduating with a degree
in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After coming to the United States
he completed a residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics and a fellowship
in advanced pelvic surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
He has been appointed clinical assistant professor of gynecology
and obstetrics at Emory University Medial School. Certified by the
American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he has been practicing
in Tifton since July of 1998 and in Atlanta at Piedmont Hospital
since July of 2002. Dr. Mordel specializes in advanced laparoscopy
and pelvic surgery, including urogynecological disorders, gynecological
tumors, pelvic relaxation, and endometriosis. He has performed over
500 Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy procedures and over
500 Tension Free Vaginal Tape Placement procedures.
Heather Gibbons-Doig, M.D. received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Cambridge, MA in 1994. She graduated from MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, in 2002 and received her Obstetrics and Gynecologic residency training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, and Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout her medical training, she was nominated for multiple teaching awards and was honored with the “Excellence in Teaching Award” from the Drexel Medical School Class of 2006. During a brief hiatus in her residency, Dr. Gibbons-Doig served on the faculty at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, as a post-doctoral research fellow performing research in bioterrorism and disaster preparedness and serving in the Medical Reserve Corp. Dr. Gibbons-Doig’s special interests include advanced laparoscopy, infectious disease, and public health and disease prevention.
Christine
Turner, MSN, WHNP, BC graduated from Brenau Women's
College, Gainesville, Georgia, in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree
in Nursing. She began her career as a staff nurse at Emory University
Hospital in Atlanta, specializing in Hematology/Oncology. In
2001, Turner attended Emory University, Nell Hodgson School fo
Nursing, graduating with a Master's Degree in Nursing/Women's
Health Nurse Practitioner Program. She is experienced in developing
and implementing women's health policy and focuses on health
education and prevention of disease for women across the lifespan.
Turner is certified by the National Certification Corporation
for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties Center.
She is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners
in Women's Health.
