In Office Procedures
Atlanta Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center provides an array of in-office procedures for our patients including:
- Transvaginal Ultrasound: an ultrasound that looks at the cervix, uterus, tubes, and ovaries.
- Colposcopy: a procedure which looks closely at the vagina and cervix using a microscope (with possible sampling performed). This procedure is usually performed in the event of an abnormal papsmear result to rule out pre-cancer and cancer of the vagina or cervix.
- Endometrial Biopsy: sampling the uterine lining for abnormal bleeding to rule out uterine hyperplasia and cancer.
- Placement of Intrauterine Device (IUD): for long-term birth control lasting 5-10 years.
- Placement of Implanon: – hormonal implant inserted in upper arm for birth control lasting 3 years.
- Diagnostic Flexible Hysteroscopy: a procedure that looks into the uterus with a miniature, flexible camera to rule out polyps, fibroids and cancer.
- Urodynamic testing: a procedure that tests bladder function for bladder control issues.
- Loop electrical excision procedure (LEEP): a procedure to remove pre-cancer cells from the cervix.
- Permanent Birth Control: a sterilization procedure using Essure permanent birth control.
- Endometrial Cryoablation: a procedure that helps with abnormal uterine bleeding.
